The Summer Intern supports the SouthWest Invasive Plant Management Team (SWIPMT) at sites run by the National Park Service throughout the Sonoran Desert. Work will include a variety of types of fieldwork; the majority of time will be spent on invasive plant management. When not working with SWIPMT, the intern will work with the Tucson Audubon Society (TAS) in our Invasive Plants, Restoration, and Conservation departments. These field tasks may include vegetation and wildlife monitoring, invasive plant control, habitat installs, and other tasks to reach program goals. The start and end dates for this entry-level position are flexible, however the Park Service prefers a late-April start and a late September end. Accommodations will be made for the right applicant based on potential academic calendar constraints. A generous gear allowance will be provided.
