Craig Rasmussen
Professor, Soil, Water and Environmental Science
Craig Rasmussen's research focuses on characterizing soil processes and soil genesis at the pedon, landscape, and regional scale. Specific areas of interest include soil formation and soil forming processes; the role of soil mineral assemblage in controlling soil organic carbon dynamics and sequestration; soil mineralogy and mineral weathering; interaction of soil development with soil-water and vegetation dynamics in arid and semiarid ecosystems; and use of environmental datasets to model and predict soil type distribution on the landscape.
