Jessica Tierney

Associate Professor, Geosciences, College of Science

Dr. Tierney studies the climates of the past in order to inform future climate change. She uses both the geological sedimentary record and climate model simulations to reconstruct past shifts in temperature and precipitation and understand how the Earth responds to changes in greenhouse gases. Current projects include study of the cold Last Glacial Maximum, the evolution of the North American monsoon system, and climate during warm periods in Earth history such as the Pliocene, Eocene, and middle Cretaceous.
