The Ernakovich Lab is seeking three graduate students to study the ecology of permafrost microbiomes after thaw, with an eye towards understanding microbial contributions to permafrost-climate feedbacks. There are two grant-funded PhD research assistantships and one teaching assistantship-funded master’s position.

Join the Fisheries Conservation and Management Propagation Lab (https://www.azcfwru.com/) and assist in the propagation of YY male fish (supermales) for nonnative and nuisance species found throughout Arizona! YY males have the potential to help eradicate problem populations of nonnative species. This research has important implications in fisheries management of nonnative species and in commercial aquaculture production. The research technician will assist with all procedures used in the production of YY male red shiner and green sunfish.

The Landscape Evolution Observatory project at Biosphere 2 is looking for student workers for immediate hire for the remainder of the Spring semester and for the Summer/ Fall. This would be a great work experience opportunity for undergraduates looking to build skills in lab work, technician work, and to build high level hydrology and ecology research experience.

The Summer Intern supports the SouthWest Invasive Plant Management Team (SWIPMT) at sites run by the National Park Service throughout the Sonoran Desert. Work will include a variety of types of fieldwork; the majority of time will be spent on invasive plant management. When not working with SWIPMT, the intern will work with the Tucson Audubon Society (TAS) in our Invasive Plants, Restoration, and Conservation departments.

The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife, has seasonal positions (no benefits) available in Flaming Gorge, Utah.
